Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever blog post!
In this post I will be writing about my May favourites (as I'm sure you've guessed from the title!!). These will be a mixture of beauty and lifestyle favourites, mostly being makeup.
Soap & Glory Kabuki Brush
I'd always wanted a kabuki brush until I managed to get my hands on this one from my local boots. The bristles are super soft but still pick up enough product. On the packaging it says this brush can be used for bronzer, blusher and face powder but personally I just use it for face powder. A great buy and one which I'm sure will be a staple for me for a long time to come!!
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
This brush has been very much raved about by the beauty community and rightly so! It blends my foundation like a dream and works like magic with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer to fill in my pores and conceal my blackheads. I've been particularly liking it this month because I've started wearing foundation on a regular basis. Highly recommended.
Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (shade 2)
I'd always wondered what all the hype was about with CC creams and now I understand why! I recently came back from a skiing holiday with some very dodgy tan/sunburn lines and this covered them up like a treat! I would say it is light to medium coverage, so if you are more on the spotty side like me then you will need to apply concealer on top, but as for covering redness it is amazing. It gives a lovely dewy finish without looking oily and lasts all day with no need for touch-ups.
Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer (shade light)
This was a product re-discovery for me as I've owned it for a while. Recently I had been finding my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer to be a little too cakey under the eyes so I decided to revert back to this. The two colours are so creamy and intensely pigmented so are very easy to blend and a little goes a long way! I also love the translucent powder it comes with. It has great lasting power and is a perfect colour match for me.
Natural Collection Duo Eyeshadow in Mink/Sable
This eyeshadow duo is perfect for me. The pale colours are really subtle so great for wearing on a daily basis. They are super easy to blend, and although the pigmentation could be better, I still really enjoy using them. They work so well together and are perfect if you're on a budget or just want some basic eyeshadows to have in your collection.
Gilly Hicks Body Spray in Royal Tindale
The scent of this spray is amazing. I first got it last Christmas but had forgotten about it so it was another re-discovery. It's a lovely light scent and easy to wear (sorry I'm no good at describing scents!!).
Asos Scallop Bar Satchel
I can honestly say I'm in love with this bag. I'd been on the hunt for a tan satchel for a while until I fell upon this one. The colour is gorgeous, it's the perfect size, it's very practical, it was great value for money… I could go on! I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a bag to use on shopping trips and days out. Probably my favourite favourite of the month!
I hope you all enjoyed my first post. I had been looking to start a blog for a while but kept putting it off until now! My posts will be mostly beauty-related with a few fashion and lifestyle ones thrown in their as well. My next post will probably either be a haul as I've recently splurged in Boots and Superdrug (oops!) or maybe a product review of something from my haul.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions about any of the products I've mentioned or to request more in-depth reviews. Also please give me any advice you have regarding my blog as I'm a complete newbie so am not 100% on this whole blogging thing!
Adios
Lily x
